The Lifehouse ministry seeks to provide loving, Christ-centered homes for girls in the Dominican Republic. We aim to raise these girls in the nurture and admonition of the Lord so that they can become productive citizens and faithful members in the local church. Unlike many children homes and orphanages which have the feel of an institution, the Lifehouse ministry takes a family-oriented approach. By maintaining Dominican house parents and limiting the number of the children to no more than 8 children per home, the Lifehouse ministry can better focus on the spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional needs of each child.

The girls of Lifehouse are given the opportunity to heal from past trauma by attending weekly therapy sessions with a psychologist. The activities both inside and outside of the home are meant to allow for continued healing as well as give them experiences where new memories can be made. It is during these times that they are able to practice social and physical skills so that they can grow into healthy, mature young ladies.

Lifehouse originally started with a boys home in the mountains of Constanza over 15 years ago. It was later moved to San Pedro de Macorís and was converted into a home for girls. Currently, Lifehouse consists of a single home with plans to expand the number of homes as Visionland (46 acres of ministry property) is developed and funding is secured for the operation of additional homes.

Take a look at our girls on a recent tour of the Colonial Zone in the historic city of Santo Domingo! Activities like this allow the girls to explore other parts of the island as they practice the social and physical skills they are learning in the home. We love making these new memories with them!
